Acquired Property Participation Regime is the legal property regime that applies by default to marriages in Turkey since 2002. Under this regime, assets acquired during marriage are divided equally between spouses upon divorce.
Each spouse is entitled to half of the value of the acquired property. This includes all assets obtained through work, investments, or other income during the marriage.
